Roller Design in 2D AutoCAD
To design anything starts with a need. We require a roller for winding a strip of rubber which goes later on for further process. So the manufacturing drawing for the roller is required not just the design of the roller. It must include all geometric tolerance, materials used, and the bill of materials for manufacturing.
So let's start with the design, we decide to take a rolling pin along with a roller shell on which it rotates. To manufacture that we kept in mind that the design of the shell must be low-cost and easy to manufacture. Also, it is lightweight because it doesn't need any loading or stress conditions so, we decided that take a round bar and by doing machining process make it light weight as we need only their face, if you are thinking instead of that we can take a pipe then it is to light and also we need to fit bearing and circlips which make it complex to make.
So this way we make roller shell and for tolerance we take H7/g6 values for fitment.

After Manufacturing and fitment of bearing and circlips and also for better finish we do anodizing process on roller shell to get better finish. its assembly looks like this...
